Radical rural acre ideas and drawing workshop. 'Tackling the housing crisis in Cornwall one field at a time’
Architects across the Southwest Region are invited to collaborate with Homes for Cornwall. A new Duchy wide community led group seeking to tackle the housing crisis one radical acre at a time. On 21st March 2024 the call for collaboration launches with a design workshop for architects and students of architecture. The evening, 5pm to 9pm, will be hosted at the Falmouth University School of Architecture, Design and Interiors. We are looking for architects willing to donate an evening of time to work with students for one evening creating ideas in response to a brief for a single notational rural acre. How can a single acre be used to create a new rural home response that could be developed by small communities throughout the Southwest? A reportage illustrator will work alongside students and architects on the evening and the ideas generated will be showcased in a radical rural ‘Homes for Cornwall’ EXPO in May 2024. To find out more contact rachael@pmplaces.net 07870 179890. It is important to register for the event in advance as pizza and refreshments will be provided and we need to know numbers!
If you can’t attend but would like to collaborate with future events or simply find out more do get in touch. We are starting a movement and we want architects to take a leading role in shape the future of community led homes throughout the region.
